Sage
Here at the farmhouse we have:
  • one cat (Simpkin) who is a purrrrfect companion.

  • Sage is my dog that I trained to be a Canine Companion about 10 years ago. After I turned her into CCI for her advanced training she was chosen to be a "breeder" for the program so she could pass on her good traits to her future offspring. In this breeding program Sage had 5 litters of pups over a 5 year period for a total of 38 pups. After they stayed with me for 8 weeks they went on to "puppy raisers" like I was to her and about 1/2 of the pups are now Canine Companions to people all over the US. If you want to find out more about this worthwhile program take a look at the Canine Companions for Independence web page. Sage is still here and happily greeting my guests and chasing her tennis ball.
These are just the tame animals! We have a great blue heron (Hank) that visits our pond on a regular basis. Osprey and ravens fly over our property on their way to Big River. And we can't forget the deer. They are lovely to look at, but I wish they would leave my roses alone!!
