I have been cooking in this kitchen for over 30 years. I cooked first for my family and now for the past 22 years breakfast for my guests. My story to guests if they happen into the kitchen at breakfast is, "It's always in a state of chaos at breakfast, but then after everyone is served it gets cleaned and ready for the next one. " I like to make all my own jams from the wild black berries and include as much local produce as the season supplies.

The Farmhouse and barn were built for my family in 1976 out of a five acre parcel of land that was logged to make a clearing for the buildings and garden. The gardens were finished a few years later after much work and lots of mulch and horse manure. There were milk goats in the barn and a big vegetable garden. Now the vegetables have been replaced with flowers and berries. In 1985 the rooms in the house were converted into guest rooms and the barn was made into two rooms in 1987. Both of my sons helped in the construction and my daughter has always helped with painting and the general idea person.
